Starting May 10, ExxonMobil Guyana continued exploration drilling activities at the Goby-1 prospect in the Stabroek Block. 

A notice from the Maritime Administration Department (MARAD) confirmed that the Stena Carron drillship will conclude drilling by July 31.

“The Goby-1 well site is situated approximately 156.9 nautical miles (290.6 kilometres) off the Coast of Guyana and covers an area of 0.29 square nautical miles (1 square kilometre),” the MARAD outlined. 

ExxonMobil Guyana confirmed that the prospect targets oil. 

ExxonMobil is the operator of the Stabroek Block with a 45% stake. Its co-venturers are Hess (owned by Chevron) and CNOOC. So far, the operator has discovered 11 billion barrels of oil equivalent, concentrated in the southeastern section of the block.
