A Guyanese-owned oil field services company has become the first local firm in the industry to achieve a major globally recognized certification which it will announce today in Georgetown.

Guysons Oil and Gas Logistics & Services was officially launched just seven months ago at the inaugural Guyana International Petroleum Exhibition and Summit (GIPEX). Chief Executive Officer, Faizal Khan, said at the time that the Guysons Group of Companies—in existence for more than two decades locally, “Carefully looked at the market place to see how we as a group of companies can build capacity and support the oil and gas industry in Guyana.”

The company immediately took steps to register with ExxonMobil’s Centre for Local Business Development (CLBD) where it received training, capacity building and the much-needed guidance that aided its ambitions to achieve a globally recognized standard. Guysons Engineering, a member of the Guysons Group, has also achieved the same certification.

The company will make the landmark announcement 14:00 hrs at CLBD’s South Road, Georgetown location with representatives from CLBD and ExxonMobil Guyana.
