“Stena is an equal opportunity employer, and it gives me the free will to…grow into my role and to make it my own,” she said.

Christina is passionate about local content and enjoys working with organizations, youth groups, and partners to give back to the community. “So that’s like one of the main things I enjoy about the job.”

Before joining Stena, Christina gained extensive experience in administration and community engagement during her eight years at the Parliament Office. “My last role there was actually very similar to what I came into here at Stena, where I did a lot of youth empowerment, local stuff, giving back to the community.”

Christina is committed to expanding her expertise in local content, ensuring her work aligns with Guyana’s Local Content Act and industry standards. “I see myself growing into the local content role, more along with the admin stuff, but mostly with that developing it, keeping the Act in mind and conforming to that,” she shared.

Stena Drilling consistently fosters employee growth through training and mentorship. According to its Admin and Local Content Officer, she appreciates the trust placed in her as a local professional.

“With this company, you’re allowed to grow. They enable you with so many different things, like the training, the people… everything. Me being a local, to be given the role that I’m in and to… be given so much responsibility; the trust that they have placed in me, that kind of surprised me, and I think it would honor you,” she said.
