Former Senior Director for Government Relations at ExxonMobil’s local affiliate, Esso Exploration and Production Guyana Limited (EEPGL), Marcus Tripp, is the new Senior Director Public & Government Affairs in Guyana, replacing Karen Matusic.

Matusic has returned to the United States on a leave of absence.

ExxonMobil Guyana noted Tripp’s immediate prior appointment as having served eight years in a similar role for ExxonMobil Iraq and Kurdistan. There, he engaged the Bhagdad and Erbil governments on the corporation’s behalf.

Tripp has more than two decades of experience with the supermajor, having served in leadership roles in Libya, Saudi Arabia, Angola, Nigeria, and Equatorial Guinea. He was also a registered lobbyist in Washington, representing ExxonMobil’s views to members of Congress, the lower House.
