Noble offers full ride for four Guyanese at Massachusetts Maritime Academy

Noble Corporation announced four fully paid scholarships for Guyanese students seeking a bachelor’s degree in Maritime Transportation or Maritime Engineering.

Noble said it will cover room and board, books, and round-trip travel to Massachusetts Maritime Academy, a public university in Buzzards Bay, Massachusetts. The company is looking for 17–25-year-olds for these spots at the United States institution.

The graduates from these programs will join the Noble team.

Since the introduction of Guyana’s new local content legal framework, companies have sought various methods to find Guyanese businesses and employees so they can meet targets. Among the practices government encourages is training for locals.

Noble and Maersk Drilling are two key companies involved in exploration for oil offshore Guyana. The two companies recently merged. The Noble Discoverer is currently engaged in drilling of the Wei-1 well offshore Guyana.
