Shell has awarded major drilling contracts to SLB, a global energy technology company. These contracts aim to support energy development across deepwater and ultra-deepwater assets in regions including the UK North Sea, Trinidad and Tobago, and the Gulf of Mexico.

The projects, set to span three years, will leverage SLB’s AI-driven digital drilling technology and expertise in deepwater operations, the company said in a Jan. 8 release. This combination is expected to deliver consistent wells and enhance cost efficiency.
