Just weeks after the Stena DrillMAX sailed into Guyana waters to join the Stena Carron offshore the South American country, the IceMAX has arrived in Tampico, Mexico for an upcoming project with Repsol.

Stena Drilling announced the arrival of the IceMAX on Wednesday via its social media page. The company said rig clearance is underway with Mexican Port Health, Immigration, Customs, and the support of the Mexican Navy.

“Thanks to our Mexican agent #GrupoGerez for helping to support her safe arrival and clearance #StenaDrilling,” Stena said.

Repsol is expected to use the rig at Block 29, in the Salina Basin, in Mexico’s deepwater.

The DrillMAX arrived offshore Guyana in February to begin operations with a series of campaigns at the deepwater multi-billion-barrel Stabroek Block.
