The Georgetown Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) on Thursday bid farewell to President of ExxonMobil Guyana, Rod Henson, who will be leaving to take up a new post in Houston soon.

GCCI members joined the event virtually at which its President, Nicholas Deygoo-Boyer, presented Henson with a token of appreciation at the Chamber’s Georgetown headquarters.

Henson officially took up the mantle of leadership in Guyana on May 1, 2017.

“Under Rod, the discovered resource estimate increased seven-fold, going from over a billion barrels of recoverable resource to over 8 billion. Relations with the business community were also strengthened with the opening of the Centre for Local Business Development,” Deygoo-Boyer told OilNOW.

Henson was also instrumental in moving the Liza Phase 1 discovery to development with the historic start of oil production in Guyana last December.

He will be replaced by Alistair Routledge, current President and General Manager for ExxonMobil Qatar Limited.
