bp Trinidad and Tobago (bpTT) has announced first gas from the Mento development, a 50/50 joint venture with EOG Resources Trinidad Ltd. EOG is the project operator.
Initial gas is being produced from the discovery well. Drilling of the remaining seven gross wells on the platform is now set to begin.

The Mento platform is located offshore Trinidad’s southeast coast. It is a 12-slot, attended facility, built at the TOFCO fabrication yard in La Brea.
Mento is one of ten major bp projects expected to start between 2025 and 2027. Together, they are projected to deliver 250,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day (boed) in combined peak net production.
