Brazilian state oil company Petrobras says it has begun the decommissioning of the P-12 platform in the Campos Basin and will also be moving to decommission the P-07 and P-15 platforms as well as the FPSO Piranema, this year.

According to the company’s Strategic Plan for 2020-2024, 18 production platforms are scheduled to be decommissioned by 2024.

The decommissioning of the platforms will be carried out in accordance with the best global practices. In partnership with other companies and with the scientific community, methodologies were developed that allow the identification of the alternative that best balances the aspects of safety, environment, technical, social and economic.

Platforms P-07, P-12 and P-15 will be offered at a public auction scheduled to take place in July.
