Chevron’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Mike Wirth, said the company is pleased with progress in Guyana following its acquisition of Hess Corporation’s assets.

Speaking during Chevron’s third-quarter 2025 earnings call, Wirth confirmed that the Yellowtail project began production during the quarter and that a final investment decision (FID) was made for the Hammerhead development, Guyana’s seventh offshore project in the ExxonMobil-operated Stabroek Block.

Wirth said he met with the former Hess team managing Guyana operations and was impressed by their performance and expertise.

“I had a chance to sit down with the legacy Hess team that has been working Guyana, and go through it for an entire day. And I got to tell you, I was impressed, impressed with Guyana, obviously, but I was really impressed and pleased with the quality of the people,” he told investors.

He expressed confidence that their experience will strengthen Chevron’s upstream operations, stating, “I have high expectations for the contributions that we’re going to get out of all the Hess employees that are part of Chevron now.”

Wirth noted that beyond assets and production, integrating people with diverse experience adds major value to Chevron’s portfolio.
