ExxonMobil continues drilling at Yellowtail as ONE GUYANA FPSO ramps up production

ExxonMobil Guyana Limited (EMGL) continued developmental drilling on September 20 at the Yellowtail Project’s YT_1P10 drill center within the Stabroek Block. 

The Noble Don Taylor rig will carry out the operation until October 31, 2025, according to a recent notice from the Maritime Administration Department. 

The YT_1P10 drill center lies 105.7 nautical miles (195.78 kilometers) offshore and spans one square kilometer. Yellowtail is supported by the ONE GUYANA floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel, which began producing oil in August.

With a designed capacity of 250,000 barrels of oil per day and storage for two million barrels, ONE GUYANA is the largest FPSO now operating offshore Guyana. It was constructed by the Dutch floater specialist, SBM Offshore.

Yellowtail has pushed Guyana’s total installed production capacity to over 900,000 barrels per day, adding to the output from the Liza Destiny, Liza Unity, and Prosperity FPSOs. Crude produced from the ONE GUYANA is marketed as Golden Arrowhead.

ExxonMobil Guyana operates the Stabroek Block with a 45% interest, alongside Hess Guyana Exploration Ltd. with 30% and CNOOC Petroleum Guyana Limited with 25%.
