ExxonMobil Guyana Limited (EMGL) began Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) surveying operations in the Stabroek Block on August 20, 2025.
According to a recent notice from the Maritime Administration Department (MARAD), the exercise is scheduled to run until September 30, 2025, using the vessel ARMADA 7807.

The survey area lies about 102.47 nautical miles (189.78 kilometers) off Guyana’s coast and spans 305.75 square nautical miles (1,048.70 square kilometers). ExxonMobil awarded Norwegian seismic company Shearwater GeoServices a six-month contract to carry out a 4D ocean bottom node survey in the block.
The 4D survey complements ExxonMobil’s development drilling efforts by capturing time-lapse changes in geophysical properties to improve understanding of offshore hydrocarbon reservoirs. ExxonMobil had earlier contracted PGS to perform a separate 4D seismic survey in Guyana.

The company is moving ahead with plans for five additional development projects in the country, aiming to achieve a production capacity of more than 1.7 million barrels of oil per day by 2030.
