The TOTALTEC Academy will have its inaugural graduation ceremony during the week of May 28, 2018 to recognize and congratulate the 20 or so pioneering graduates and to welcome and inspire the new recruits for the next scheduled Oilfield Operator Training Programme commencing soon thereafter.
“We are aiming to have another 20 plus recruits for the second 9-week oilfield operator programme,” said founder, Chairman and CEO of TOTALTEC Oilfield Services, Lars Mangal.
He said that based on the continued positive and strong support from their Patron, Minister of Natural Resources, Raphael Trotman, and companies involved in the oil and gas industry in Guyana, “we believe that we can build capacity at the Academy to complete the training for 80 plus Guyanese by year-end 2018, far exceeding our original expectations.”
He lauded the calibre of the recruits and now employees of TOTALTEC noting that they have been able to attract persons with the promise of a rewarding dynamic career in the oil and gas industry based on continuous learning and development, safe work practices, professionalism, and a strong uncompromising work ethic.
Mangal said that having seen the completion of the first 6 weeks of the 9 week intensive oilfield safety and operational training programme consisting of 60 courses, “I am delighted to say that our attrition on the programme thus far is less than 5%; remarkable compared to global standards where we would normally have expected attrition levels to exceed 15% when consideration is given to the rigour and daily testing the candidates are challenged with on our programme.”
He noted that this reflects very positively on the calibre of the pioneering Guyanese recruits and said they are actively recruiting for the next oilfield safety and operator programme scheduled to start very soon after the completion of the first program on the 26th May 2018.
