TechnipFMC marked a key milestone for its configure-to-order Subsea 2.0® platform, which has benefited from its global talent pool. Celebrating the key moment on Wednesday, teammates proudly posed with the company’s first Subsea 2.0® tree mobilized for transport from its Guyana base, flying the flag for the country.
In a LinkedIn post on May 7, TechnipFMC explained that the tree was built in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, with Georgetown, Guyana, serving as the final stop before deployment.
The tree was sent into service at ExxonMobil’s Uaru development in the Stabroek Block.
The company said a second Subsea 2.0® tree has also been installed at the project.
Subsea 2.0® is TechnipFMC’s innovative configure-to-order production system. It uses pre-engineered components and optimized manufacturing processes to streamline project timelines.
The Uaru development, the fifth project approved offshore Guyana, is valued at US$12.7 billion and targets more than 800 million barrels of oil. The project will include up to 10 drill centers and 44 wells, with an initial production goal of 250,000 barrels per day by 2026.
To support operations, MODEC is constructing the Errea Wittu FPSO under an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract. TechnipFMC’s services – based in Georgetown, Guyana – play a key role in the project’s execution.
