A United Kingdom (UK) Accountancy and Advisory firm has been selected to prepare Guyana’s first Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) Report.
This was revealed by National Coordinator of Guyana Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (GYEITI), Dr. Rudy Jadoopat on Tuesday, July 31.
Speaking exclusively to OilNOW, Dr Jadoopat related that Guyana’s Cabinet Council of Ministers has given their approval for the contract to be granted to the firm.
“Cabinet has signalled its ‘no objection’ to hiring UK Firm Moore Stephens LLP to provide Independent Administrator services to prepare Guyana’s 1st EITI Report,” the National Coordinator stated.
He went on to say that “the contract is expected to be signed soon for the Report preparations to move faster.”
Headquartered in England, UK, the company provides a range of services including accounting, bookkeeping, and related auditing services.
Guyana is required to submit its first EITI Report in April 2019. Dr Jadoopat had earlier indicated that the process of gathering data and information for the preparation of the Report is underway and that he is confident that the Report will be completed in time for its deadline.
