The Petroleum Department of Guyana’s Ministry of Natural Resources will on Wednesday host a stakeholder engagement on the draft Local Content Policy framework. The draft framework has been under review by stakeholders over the past few months.

Author of the document, Trinidadian oil and gas consultant Anthony Paul, recently arrived in Guyana and is expected to participate in the stakeholder forums.

Wednesday’s event, scheduled for 09:00hrs at the Guyana Marriott Hotel, is expected to see the participation of Guyana Oil and Gas Association, Guyana Bar Association, Institute of Chartered Accountants of Guyana, African Business Roundtable, Georgetown Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Guyana Geology and Mines Commission, Guyana Manufacturing and Services Association, Go-Invest, Private Sector Commission, Environmental Protection Agency and Ground Structures Engineering Consultants.

In addition to this, the Ministry will be holding workshops over the next two weeks with Chambers of Commerce outside of Georgetown. These Chambers include those from Essequibo, Bartica, Linden and all Chambers of Commerce in Regions 5 and 6.

There will also be a separate forum for oil companies exploring in Guyana.
