MODEC said it carried out keel laying for the Guyana-bound Errea Wittu floating production, storage and offloading vessel (FPSO), five weeks ahead of schedule.
In a May 23 LinkedIn post announcing the achievement, MODEC said “This performance milestone demonstrates the dedication and collaboration of the teams involved.”
Additionally, the company announced that it continues to maintain “a strong safety record” with no lost time injuries.
“This reflects our unwavering commitment to providing a safe and efficient work environment,” MODEC said.
ExxonMobil hired MODEC to deliver the FPSO for the fifth Stabroek Block oil development offshore Guyana. MODEC said Errea Wittu will be one of the most sustainable FPSOs in the world.
The Errea Wittu FPSO will develop the Snoek, Mako, and Uaru fields in Stabroek. The Errea Wittu is expected to target an initial oil production rate of 250,000 barrels per day (b/d). MODEC will also provide Exxon with a decade-long service for operations and maintenance of the FPSO from its initial oil production.
