Touchstone Exploration is seeking a strategic partner to participate in drilling up to six high-impact onshore Cretaceous exploration prospects across the Central Range and Southern basins of Trinidad and Tobago.

The opportunity is being advanced through Touchstone Exploration (Trinidad) Ltd. and its wholly owned subsidiary, Primera Oil & Gas Ltd. The company, via a notice on LinkedIn on January 8, said it has identified several seismically defined Cretaceous anomalies that could unlock an onshore play comparable to major offshore discoveries in Guyana and Suriname.

Touchstone holds operatorship across all the prospects and has outlined targets located within or very near established producing fields. The areas benefit from existing road access and infrastructure, with connections to both domestic oil markets and liquefied natural gas (LNG) facilities.

Six prospects have been mapped across five onshore blocks. These include Kraken in the Ortoire block, Balrog in Rio Claro, Morag West and Morag East in the Central block, St Croix in Cipero, and Cocos in Charuma. Working interests range from 65% to 80%, with gross acreage spanning roughly 900 acres to more than 3,700 acres per prospect.

Target depths range from about 7,000 feet to 13,500 feet, placing the wells within conventional onshore drilling parameters. Touchstone said six Cretaceous exploration prospects have been identified in total, forming the basis of the proposed multi-well campaign.

The company is seeking a partner to share risk and capital as it advances the drilling program, positioning the effort as a potential new phase in Trinidad’s onshore exploration landscape.
