The Energy Chamber of Trinidad and Tobago has appointed Dr. Priya Marajh as its President and Chief Executive Officer, effective August 14.
The appointment follows a competitive recruitment process conducted by the Chamber’s Board over several months. Marajh served as Interim Executive in charge of the Chamber’s Executive Office during that period.
She assumed the acting role in March 2026 after former President and CEO Dr. Thackwray Driver departed. She led the organization through a five-month transition while maintaining engagement with its members.
Marajh has nearly 20 years of experience in the energy industry across Trinidad and Tobago and the wider region. She has worked at the Energy Chamber for more than a decade.
“The Board undertook a rigorous and comprehensive search for our next President and CEO, and Dr. Marajh emerged as the clear and outstanding choice,” the Chairman of the Chamber’s Board said.
“Her deep knowledge of the sector, her steady hand during the transition period, and her record of service to the Chamber and its members give the Board every confidence in her ability to lead the organisation into its next chapter.”

Marajh said she was honored to accept the permanent leadership role.
“I am deeply honoured to take on this role and I am grateful for the confidence the Board has placed in me,” she said.
“The Energy Chamber has been my professional home for over a decade, and I look forward to continuing our work advocating for the sector, deepening our regional partnerships, and delivering value for our members as the industry continues to evolve.”
