SBM Offshore is crediting Guyanese talent, backed by international expertise, for the performance of the ONE GUYANA floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel during its first year of operations offshore Guyana.
In a statement issued August 17, the company said the vessel’s performance has been supported by continued investment in training and developing Guyanese workers, alongside the experience of its global teams.
“ONE GUYANA’s success has been built by a highly skilled workforce…This diversity has been one of the vessel’s greatest strengths. During her first year, up to 25 nationalities have worked together onboard, bringing a wealth of expertise and experience while supporting the development of local capabilities, the company said.

The ONE GUYANA was delivered under SBM Offshore’s Fast4Ward program and is the eighth FPSO completed under the standardized development program.
The vessel operates in the Yellowtail field in the Stabroek Block, and was sold to ExxonMobil Guyana in early 2026. SBM Offshore will continue operating the FPSO until 2035.
The vessel also received the SUSTAIN-1 notation from the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS), recognizing measures covering pollution prevention, greenhouse gas reduction, marine ecosystem protection, ship recycling, and crew well-being.
The ONE GUYANA was among three deepwater FPSOs brought online by SBM Offshore within six months in 2025. The vessels, which also included the Almirante Tamandaré and Alexandre de Gusmão offshore Brazil, have a combined production capacity of 655,000 barrels per day (b/d). The ONE GUYANA itself ramped up from an initial 75,000 b/d to its 250,000 b/d design capacity within three months of starting production in August 2025.
SBM Offshore is constructing a fifth FPSO, Jaguar, for delivery to Guyana in 2027.
