The Errea Wittu floating production storage and offloading vessel (FPSO) is set to arrive in Guyana this week, President Irfaan Ali just announced.
Constructed by MODEC, the vessel is set to start production before the end of 2026.
Designed to develop the Uaru field, the US$12.7 billion project targets more than 800 million barrels of recoverable oil. It will include up to 10 drill centers and 44 wells and is expected to produce 250,000 barrels of oil per day, lifting Guyana’s production beyond one million barrels per day.
The FPSO will feature a combined-cycle gas turbine to improve power generation efficiency and a closed-loop flare system designed to reduce greenhouse gas emissions during operations.
ExxonMobil operates Guyana’s Stabroek Block with a 45% stake, with co-venturers Hess, owned by Chevron (30%), and CNOOC (25%).
