GO NDE Inc. has teamed up with Global Compliance Service Inc. to grant 24 Guyanese nationals an opportunity to fast-track their introduction to the oil and gas industry through its newly developed “Learn & Earn” Training program.
GO NDE said the 24 suitable candidates will have access to free training and licensing to the level of Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) ISO 9712 combination inspector across several disciplines, along with health and safety training.
The program has four phases; recruitment, non-destructive testing training, rope access training and offshore training. The list of minimum requirements for suited applicants can be found here.
GO NDE said Phase two includes training in the several disciplines certified to the NDT ISO 9712 global standard; NDT – Visual (VT) Level 1 and 2, NDT– Ultrasonic (UT) Level 1 and 2, NDT – Magnetic Particle (MT) Level 1 and 2, NDT – Penetrant Testing (PT) Level 1 and 2 and NDT – Leak Testing (LT) Level 1 and 2.
GO NDE explained that eight of the highest-scoring applicants will then get first preference to move into Phase three. This involves participating in more advanced technical training including IRATA Rope Access Training and NSL/LEEA Lifting Gear Inspection Training.
In moving to Phase four, the eight applicants will receive mandatory offshore training; the Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training (BOSIET), Compressed Air Emergency Breathing System (CA-EBS) Initial Deployment Training, Tuberculosis QuantiFERON Testing and OGUK/UKOOA Medical Screening.
The initial eight applicants will be given permanent employment deals with GO NDE to train further in order to complete the final certification assessment and subsequent licensing as an ISO 9712 Certified Combination NDT Inspector.
The program then continues with an additional eight applicants from Phase two, completing Phases three and four.
“GO NDE Inc and Global Compliance Inc. intend to provide this program 100% Subsidized to the participants who will also receive a stipend whilst the program is ongoing. The program is geared towards providing opportunities to the Guyanese people, regardless of gender, age, ethnicity, once all the pre-requisites are met,” the company said.
