Noble Corporation says it continues to prioritize the development of Guyanese talent as part of its offshore operations. According to its 2024 Sustainability Report, all offshore assets are staffed with Guyanese doctors.

The company said it works with more than 70 local service providers.

As of June 2024, about 400 Guyanese were directly supporting its oil and gas and well delivery operations.

“These initiatives not only boost the local economy but also help to place Guyanese professionals at the forefront of the country’s growing oil and gas industry,” Noble stated.

The company said it awarded full scholarships to six Guyanese in 2024 under its Marine Cadet Program. Already this year, 20 Guyanese nationals received scholarships through the program.

“By prioritizing the development of Guyanese professionals, Noble is not only contributing to the country’s economic growth but also building a skilled and capable workforce,” the company noted.

Noble’s operations in Guyana are primarily tied to the Stabroek Block. Four drillships—Noble Tom Madden, Noble Sam Croft, Noble Don Taylor, and Noble Bob Douglas— are currently in operation there.

In 2023, Noble also sent two Guyanese nationals to study maritime transportation at the Massachusetts Maritime Academy. The company is among several international companies operating in Guyana’s oil and gas sector that have provided scholarships and training opportunities for locals.
