Aker Solutions, a global provider of integrated products and services to the energy industry, is inviting Guyanese suppliers to pre-qualify to provide a range of goods and services in support of its offshore operations.
According to a public Request For Information (RFI), the scope of supply includes the design, procurement, and supply of valves of varying material grades, pressure ratings, and sizes. These include ball, gate, globe, butterfly, double block and bleed, and shutdown/control valves.
Aker Solutions is also seeking service providers for materials control and inventory management, storage and preservation management, quality assurance, and warehousing space ranging from approximately 1,500 to 10,000 square feet.
Security measures form a key part of the requirements, including restricted access, perimeter control, secured storage for valuable items, and spot checks on marketable materials. The company further outlined needs for materials handling equipment, liability and custody transfer, transportation, offshore logistics, backloading of surplus material, and outdoor storage.
For freight forwarding, Aker Solutions said suppliers must be able to provide customs brokerage, freight forwarding, customs consulting and immigration consulting services.
The call for local participation comes as Aker Solutions continues to expand its role in Guyana’s offshore oil and gas sector. The company was awarded a substantial contract by ExxonMobil Guyana for the Uaru project, covering the provision of dynamic and static subsea umbilicals, three dynamic and seven static, totaling more than 52 kilometers in length.
