Energy Guyana Magazine will mark International Women’s Day on March 8, 2026, with the release of a special edition titled Women in Oil and Gas—Balancing the Scales, according to a press release seen by OilNOW.

The publication said the edition will highlight women whose careers have been featured in Energy over the past five years, alongside new voices entering technical, managerial, and entrepreneurial roles linked to Guyana’s expanding oil and gas sector.

Energy Guyana Magazine, launched in late 2020, has chronicled the growth of the country’s petroleum industry as offshore discoveries and production activities reshaped the national economy.

The special edition will feature profiles and stories from women working across the sector and related businesses. The magazine said their experiences demonstrate how Guyanese women are contributing to the industry’s development and the opportunities emerging alongside it.

The edition also reflects a shift within the industry as more women take on leadership roles in a field long viewed as male-dominated.

“Energy Guyana is proud to showcase the women who are balancing the scales in oil and gas. Their achievements reflect the strength, resilience, and innovation that are shaping Guyana’s future,” said Gwen Evelyn, Editor in Chief of Energy Guyana Magazine.
