The Noble Don Taylor is continuing exploration drilling at ExxonMobil’s Lau-Lau-2 well site in Guyana’s Stabroek Block.

A notice from the Maritime Administration Department (MARAD) posted over the weekend outlined that drilling operations will end on October 31, 2024. The well site is located about 110.4 nautical miles (204.5 kilometers) off the coast of Guyana and covers an area of 0.29 square nautical miles (1 square kilometer).

Exxon discovered Lau Lau in January 2022. The Lau Lau-1 well delivered approximately 315 feet (96 meters) of high-quality hydrocarbon-bearing sandstone reservoirs, equivalent in height to three Marriott Hotels in Georgetown.

Westwood Global Energy Group estimates the discovery holds over 100 million oil-equivalent barrels, with more gas than oil.
