ExxonMobil will host an informational forum for Guyanese businesses interested in supporting local oil and gas drilling activities.
The January 11 forum will be held at the Marriott Hotel in Kingston, Georgetown from 1 p.m.
The company said its major partners will attend. These include Baker Hughes, Halliburton, SLB, Noble Drilling, Stena Drilling, Expro, Weatherford, TechnipFMC, Bluewater/Falcon, Guysons, and the Centre for Local Business Development.
ExxonMobil Guyana and its partners utilize many local suppliers for their Guyana operations including nearly 1,500 unique Guyanese vendors. Guyana’s Local Content Act has established a comprehensive framework that mandates the utilization of Guyanese goods, services, and employment.
Guyana’s Local Content Secretariat estimated that US$720 million in local spend benefited Guyanese companies in 2023.
As Guyana’s oil & gas industry continues to grow, there will be opportunities for even more local Guyanese businesses to benefit from contracting opportunities. A major expansion is especially expected when the eight oil block awards from the offshore auction are finalized.
