The Guyana Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (GYEITI) has announced the forthcoming release of its fiscal year 2021 report, which is expected to be published on or before December 31, 2023. This announcement coincides with the launch of the organization’s new website.
Since becoming an EITI-implementing country in 2017, Guyana has committed to providing comprehensive disclosures about its extractive industry’s value chain. The annual EITI country reports are part of this commitment. The upcoming report for fiscal year 2021 will mark the fifth consecutive year of such disclosures, following the successful publication of reports for fiscal years 2017 to 2020.

The EITI reports are accessible on the new website, designed to serve as a central information hub for the country’s extractive sectors. The new website includes improved security features, better aesthetics, easier navigation, and a more organized content structure with updated information and formatting, GYEITI said.
The Ministry of Natural Resources, which oversees EITI’s implementation in Guyana, has provided technical assistance for the new website’s development. The process involved comprehensive consultations with the multi-stakeholder group (MSG) and the Guyana EITI Secretariat.
