The start-up of ExxonMobil’s Yellowtail Development in the Stabroek Block draws near as the ONE GUYANA floating production, storage and offloading vessel (FPSO) officially arrived in country today.

On the vessel’s arrival, Minister of Natural Resources, Vickram Bharrat, shared, “The arrival of the ONE GUYANA FPSO is a powerful symbol of progress, not only in oil production but in the continued empowerment of our people through job creation, local business opportunities, and increased revenues that support development across Guyana.”

The new FPSO will support production in the Yellowtail development, located in the Stabroek Block offshore Guyana. Built by SBM Offshore, ONE GUYANA has a production capacity of 250,000 barrels of oil per day and can store up to two million barrels.

With Yellowtail production set to begin later this year, ExxonMobil’s daily output in Guyana is projected to reach 900,000 barrels. The ONE GUYANA vessel joins the Liza Destiny, Unity, and Prosperity FPSOs already in operation in the Stabroek Block.

Three local companies—ZECO, InFab and Guyana Oil & Gas Support Services Inc. (GOGSSI)— fabricated steel for the ONE GUYANA FPSO. With its startup, Guyana will become the world’s largest per capita producer of oil.

In a statement issued today, ExxonMobil Guyana Production Manager Huzefa Ali said, “The arrival of the ONE GUYANA FPSO symbolizes the unwavering collaboration between our team, the government and our industry partners. We are proud to play a pivotal role in shaping the energy landscape of Guyana while fostering sustainable development and empowering the communities we serve.”
