Halliburton has launched its Development Excellence Engineer Program (DEEP) in Suriname, marking the first time the initiative is being offered in the country.
The company said it is “looking for the right people-people who want to innovate, achieve, grow and lead.”
The program targets recent graduates in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), including those with bachelor’s degrees in electronics, petroleum, chemical and mechanical engineering, as well as science, math and technology. Applicants must demonstrate advanced English proficiency, show a willingness to learn, and be available to relocate and commit full-time. Residence in Suriname is required.

Halliburton said the launch is “more than just adding a new country — it’s about expanding opportunities, investing in local STEM talent, and continuing to build the future of energy in new and exciting markets.”
The company said the initiative will provide “a world-class development program — one that accelerates careers, builds technical and leadership capabilities, and connects talent with global expertise.”
The position is listed on Halliburton’s careers portal for the 2026 intake, with applications identified using a specific job keyword. The company noted that “all communication with selected candidates will be via email.”

The move comes as Suriname advances preparations for its first offshore oil development in Block 58, where TotalEnergies and APA Corporation each hold a 50% stake, with TotalEnergies as operator. In 2024, Wood Mackenzie estimated the country’s discovered resources at about 4.6 billion barrels of oil equivalent.
Halliburton has been active in Guyana since 2015, supporting offshore operations and expanding its infrastructure, including the establishment of a major mud plant.
