In January 2020 Mr Hamley Case, former Guyana High Commissioner to the UK, Non-Resident Ambassador to France and to Russia, joined the Board of ABIS Energy (Guyana) Inc., a consultancy and investment firm with a focus on oil and gas investment opportunities.

ABIS Energy (Guyana) Inc. has forged a number of relationships with companies in Guyana, both within and outside of the oil and gas sector, offering consultancy services and investment opportunities through their global partners.

Mr Case, who also has been appointed Chairman of the company, said the ABIS Energy Group has been in the forefront of UK engagement with Guyana and its initiatives to twin Georgetown and Aberdeen, University Partnerships with the University of Guyana and the formal signing of a co-operation agreement between the Aberdeen Chamber of Commerce and Georgetown Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI).

Mr Case said, “I look forward to returning to Guyana and resuming my private business career with ABIS Energy (Guyana) Inc.”

As part of its business strategy in Guyana, ABIS Energy will continue to build on its relationships with the business community, including the commercial banks and the Private Sector Commission.

The company also aims to continue the establishment of Phoenix RDS (Guyana) Inc., the Group’s Geoscience Reservoir Drilling and Completions Division, in Georgetown Guyana and continue to provide services to the upstream product supply chain.

Mr Francis Kiernan, Group Managing Director, said, “ABIS Energy (Guyana) will continue to work with the local business, government and the academic community to help local companies and organisations to forge relationships-partnerships with the established global business community, inclusive of the Oil and Gas players.”

ABIS Energy (Guyana) Inc.’s mission is to employ mainly Guyanese, providing the relevant training both locally and overseas while  partnering with small and medium Guyanese companies (SME’s) and starting up local oil and gas businesses.

Mr Case committed to using his international expertise and experience to help build out his homeland’s oil and gas sector. “The next decade will be life changing for the country of Guyana and its people. I will use my experience, my international reputation and my energy in the tasks ahead,” he said.
