Liam Mallon, President of ExxonMobil Upstream Company sat down with OilNOW last week in Georgetown, Guyana to discuss the company’s operations in the South American country where it has so far found around 11 billion barrels of oil equivalent resources.
Mallon spoke about the role technology is playing in Exxon’s remarkable exploration success at the Stabroek Block where over 30 discoveries have been made since 2015 and spoke about upcoming drill campaigns.
He shared insight on Exxon’s support for the landmark gas-to-energy project which is set to cut the cost of electricity in Guyana by 50 percent.
Optimization of the floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) vessels operating offshore has been key in safely boosting production. Mallon touched on projections for upcoming vessels and Exxon’s confidence in working with players in the FPSO construction market.
Aligned partnerships between the Stabroek Block co-venturers, government and other key stakeholders he said, have played a major role in the unprecedented success seen in Guyana to date.
