Guyana’s Ministry of Natural Resources recently issued a statement concerning a technical issue that has been affecting its Petroleum Management Programme’s Data Centre, which is used to publish oil production volumes.
“Our thorough checks have revealed that users have encountered difficulties changing the [oil production] graph’s display based on the selected period,” the statement read.

The statement came after local media pointed out that the oil production data charts were not accessible on the site. Recognising the glitch, the Ministry took immediate steps to alleviate the situation.
While the technical team delves deeper into identifying the root cause, the ministry has provisionally replaced the timeline line graphs with static line graphs.

While this has significantly reduced the functionality of the graphs, the ministry said, “We work diligently to resolve the underlying technical glitch affecting the interactive charts.”
The ministry said it is dedicated to upholding the most stringent standards of transparency. It pledged to work to provide the public with accurate and easily accessible data.
