MODEC is offering two exclusive opportunities for final-year students, recent graduates, and young professionals eager to break into Guyana’s oil and gas industry.
For final-year students, MODEC presents a 1-year paid internship program.
It said this opportunity allows three interns to gain hands-on experience in key business areas. Available positions include human resource intern, legal and compliance intern, and supply chain intern.
“Interns will work closely with industry experts, gaining practical skills that set them on the path to a successful career in oil and gas,” MODEC said in a LinkedIn post.

Recent graduates and young professionals are invited to apply for MODEC’s monthly paid trainee program. That program offers experience, including the opportunity for training abroad. Trainee positions are available in several specialized fields, such as commercial & contracts administration, electrical engineering, integrity engineering, and process safety engineering.
MODEC said its programs are designed to provide global training, hands-on experience, and career development. Participants will benefit from competitive salaries, comprehensive training, and exposure to cutting-edge technologies.
ExxonMobil hired MODEC last year to deliver the Errea Wittu FPSO for the Uaru project offshore Guyana. The order was MODEC’s highest earning engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI) contract in 2023, beating out Equinor’s Raia and Bacalhau. It is expected to be a key contributor to MODEC’s 2024 earnings.
