More than 15 drill targets have been identified at the Orinduik block offshore Guyana and co-venturers Tullow, Total and Eco Atlantic are fully funded to drill at least 8, having just a few days ago spudded the first of these prospects at Jethro-Lobe.

“Even if we don’t hit on Jethro, even if we don’t hit on Joe, Tullow and Total and our team identified more than 15 drill targets on the block. We are fully funded for at least an additional 6 wells on top of these two so naturally we all cross our fingers and hope that we have a discovery on at least one of the first wells,” Gil Holzman, Eco (Atlantic) Oil & Gas said on a recent podcast.

Holzman said immediately after Jethro-Lobe is completed around mid-August, the Stena Forth drillship will move 2 kilometers west towards the Joe prospect located in shallower water, where the search for oil will continue.

“By the end of August…first or second week of September, we are going to have results from these first two wells,” he stated.

Tullow, the operator of the Orinduik Block, has 60 percent stake, Total has 25 percent and Eco Atlantic Oil and Gas has 15 percent.
