The Noble Don Taylor is continuing developmental drilling at the Whiptail well site at Guyana’s Stabroek Block. Drilling operations began on October 23, according to a notice from the Maritime Administration Department (MARAD) and will conclude by November 30. 

The well site, located 110 nautical miles (203.9 kilometers) off the coast of Guyana, covers an area of 0.29 square nautical miles (1 square kilometer).

Whiptail is expected to start oil production by late 2027, with a daily capacity of 250,000 barrels. It will follow ExxonMobil’s Yellowtail and Uaru projects, set to begin in 2025 and 2026, respectively, each also projected to produce 250,000 barrels per day.

ExxonMobil Guyana Limited holds a 45% interest in the 6.6-million-acre Stabroek Block, alongside Hess Guyana Exploration Ltd. with 30% and CNOOC Petroleum Guyana Limited with 25%.
