Development drilling at ExxonMobil’s Whiptail well site in the Stabroek Block continues with the Noble Sam Croft, according to a public notice by the Guyana Maritime Administration Department (MARAD). 

Activities are expected to conclude on August 31 at the site, located approximately 110.0 nautical miles (203.9 kilometers) off the Coast of Guyana, and covers an area of 0.29 square nautical miles (1 square kilometer). 

The Whiptail project will be the sixth ExxonMobil-operated development project in the Stabroek Block offshore Guyana. It will involve a floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel to be delivered by SBM Offshore. Whiptail is targeting production of approximately 850 million barrels of oil at a rate of 250,000 barrels per day (b/d). First oil is expected in 2027.
