Shell secures Stena Evolution for five years of US Gulf operations

Stena Drilling said it has signed a new contract with Shell Offshore Inc. for the mobile offshore drilling unit (MODU) Stena Evolution. 

The operations for Stena Evolution in the United States Gulf of Mexico are due to commence in Q2 2024 for a primary term of five years, with an option to extend the contract upon completion of primary term.

Stena Drilling is one of the world’s most foremost drilling contractors. Two Stena rigs are currently operational offshore Guyana. The DrillMax is expected to be demobilised soon to exit Guyana’s waters.
