Health, safety and environmental requirements form part of the evaluation process. Stena stated that “interested Candidates must have a comprehensive management system that addresses health, safety, environment, and quality that meets, at a minimum, all requirements of Stena and required regulatory processes.”
The Stena Carron is the only drill currently operated by Stena Drilling in the Stabroek Block, following the conclusion of the Stena DrillMax program in 2025. The vessel has secured a contract extension and is expected to remain in operation offshore Guyana through December 2026.
Since arriving in 2016, the Stena Carron has supported exploration, appraisal and development drilling activities in water depths of up to 2,938 meters.
