TechnipFMC has announced that it has been awarded a substantial contract to provide flexible pipes to Petrobras for use in the pre-salt fields located offshore Brazil. In TechnipFMC’s terms, a “significant” contract typically falls within the range of US$75 million and US$250 million.

Under this contract, TechnipFMC will take on the responsibility of designing, engineering and manufacturing approximately 14 kilometres of gas injection riser pipes. In addition to the supply of these crucial components, the company will also offer associated services, including packing and storage.

Jonathan Landes, President of Subsea at TechnipFMC, expressed his satisfaction with the collaboration, stating, “We have an established team in place who have earned the trust of Petrobras over many years of collaboration. We are delighted to once again work with a valued client to help them ensure success on their projects.”

TechnipFMC said the contract reinforces its position as a key player in providing essential equipment and services to support offshore operations in the pre-salt fields off the coast of Brazil.

Brazil’s pre-salt is known for its vast hydrocarbon reserves and represents a vital component of Petrobras’ exploration and production activities.
