ExxonMobil Guyana Limited has intensified activity at the Uaru development as its Yellowtail project enters full production. On November 17, 2025, the company began developmental drilling at the Uaru Project’s UA_3i02 Drill Center within the Stabroek Block of Guyana’s Exclusive Economic Zone.
According to the Maritime Administration Department, the MODU Noble Bob Douglas is conducting drilling operations scheduled to conclude on December 31, 2025.

The UA_3i02 Drill Center lies approximately 105.1 nautical miles, or 194.6 kilometers, off Guyana’s coast and spans about one square kilometer.
Valued at US$12.7 billion, the Uaru project is designed to produce up to 250,000 barrels of oil per day when it comes online in 2026. The development targets over 800 million barrels of recoverable oil and includes plans for up to 10 drill centers and 44 wells.

Japanese contractor MODEC is constructing the Errea Wittu floating production, storage and offloading vessel (FPSO), which will process and store oil from the Uaru field. The vessel’s completion and deployment will be key to supporting ExxonMobil’s continued expansion offshore Guyana, as operations shift from Yellowtail to the next phase of the country’s production growth.
