US-based Harvey Gulf International Marine is deploying a second vessel to Guyana to support offshore exploration activities in South America’s newest oil and gas hotspot.
The 210’ Fast Supply and Utility Vessel is expected to arrive in Guyana on September 25.
“We are doing some upgrades on it…just getting it ready to come down here. It’s going to be doing the support drilling programme for Repsol offshore,” Robert Gwinn, President of the company told OilNOW during a recent interview in Georgetown, Guyana.
The crew boat will join a 310’ dual field supply boat already operating offshore Guyana servicing Tullow Oil’s operations at the Orinduik Block.
On July 10, 2019, Harvey Gulf officially opened its local office – Guyana Offshore Vessel Services Inc. in Kingston, Georgetown.
“We are going to continue to grow in this region… We’d love to see the day when its 100% Guyanese, where we could possibly re-flag boats into a Guyanese flag. As long as, that makes sense and the Government supports that and has a support system for it. But we’re here to stay. We’re here to stay,” CEO, Shane J. Guidry, said at the time.
