Chief Executive Officer of Staatsolie Maatschappij Suriname, Mr. Anand Jaggesar and other senior staff, accompanied by Suriname Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Business and International Cooperation Albert R. Ramdin and Minister of Natural Resources David Abiamofo, recently visited EnerMech Guyana Inc. and met with the company’s Country Manager, Mr. Darrel Sookdeo, and other staff at their mechanical office located at the Guyana Shore Base Inc. (GYSBI).

EnerMech officially opened its office in Guyana in March 2019 and has invested in the South American country by working with local suppliers and adding resources to support the growth of the industry. OilNOW understands EnerMech is pursuing an aggressive local content development plan at its operations and has since moved to a full local team supporting its mechanical services for the onshore/offshore oil and gas sector. Local technicians have also benefited from international training to enhance their skills and build capacity.

“EnerMech Guyana Inc. is focused on building and growing its local capacity and forging strong relationships with its clients, local suppliers and the local community to support the offshore and onshore Guyana- Suriname oil and gas sector,” Country Manager Mr. Sookdeo told OilNOW.

The company has provided critical pipeline, process and umbilical pre- commissioning services to its clients for their operations offshore Guyana and also mechanical services for onshore activities.

EnerMech said it is an international market leader in providing integrated Mechanical, Welding, Process, Industrial, Pipeline, Hydraulics, Integrity Management, and E&I services. It operates in over 40+ locations in 23 countries globally.

In January 2020 EnerMech mobilized local and international resources to support Staatsolie on the first major TAR at the TLF Refinery. EnerMech provided Nitrogen Services, Hydro Blasting Cleaning, and mechanical support.
