DOF Subsea Brasil has secured a charter for its remotely operated vehicle (ROV) support vessel, Geoholm.
DOF said that the 85.7-metre-long vessel and its ROV will be used for a ‘major’ subsea umbilical, riser, and flowline (SURF) project offshore Brazil.
The company did not disclose the client’s name but revealed that the Geoholm mobilisation is scheduled to start in early March 2023.
The contract will keep the vessel busy for 180 days and is worth US$19 million for the firm period, with the client having the option to extend the agreement.
DOF Subsea Brasil is a subsidiary of Norwegian offshore support vessel firm DOF.
Just last year, the company was awarded a US$256.1 million contract by ExxonMobil to execute works in the Stabroek Block offshore Guyana.
Two multi-purpose support construction vessels with a 250-ton active heave compensated (AHC) crane and two work-class remotely operated vehicles (ROV) systems will be deployed; the first vessel will mobilise in late October while the second vessel is planned to commence in January 2023.
