Halliburton will be using its DecisionSpace® 365 Well Construction applications powered by iEnergy® Hybrid Cloud to plan, design, and construct safe, cost effective, and productive wells for Hess Corporation – the 30% stakeholder in Guyana’s prolific Stabroek Block.

Halliburton said its DecisionSpace 365 applications empowers an agile enterprise and bring planning, design, and operations together to create a digital twin of the well construction process.

The applications provide operators with real time and efficient collaboration with oilfield service providers and drilling contractors.

“Hess is using advanced technology to elevate our operational performance and do that sustainably,” said Richard Lynch, Senior Vice President, Technology and Services at Hess. “We look forward to applying this solution to help reduce well costs and optimise our digital workflow.”

With DecisionSpace 365 powered by iEnergy hybrid cloud, Haliburton explained that Hess can leverage predictive drilling analytics using artificial intelligence (AI)/machine learning (ML) and gain comprehensive oversight across the entire well construction lifecycle.

“Our Landmark technology provides an open and agnostic platform that enables automation using AI/ML and integrates seamlessly with third-party systems throughout drilling plan, design and execute workflows,” said Nagaraj Srinivasan, senior vice president of Landmark, Halliburton Digital Solutions and Consulting. “We are excited to collaborate with Hess to help increase shared access to enterprise knowledge and cross-team collaboration, which will positively impact their digital workflows.”

The Stabroek Block co-venturers intend to drill 10 exploration and appraisal wells there in 2023, Chief Executive Officer of Hess Corporation, John Hess had said.

They plan to target a variety of prospects and play types, including lower risk wells near existing discoveries and several penetrations that will test deeper intervals.

Operations are continuing at the Tarpon Fish-1 well in the northwest corner of the Stabroek Block, approximately 43 miles northwest of the Liza-1 well. There is also the Lancetfish-1 well, a deep play exploration well, located approximately 2.5 miles northeast of the Fangtooth SE-1 well.

Then there is also the Basher well, which will target a deep prospect in the Fangtooth area and a well called Blackfin, which will penetrate an updip upper prospect east of the Barreleye discovery.
