The third edition of what is now rebranded as the Guyana Energy Conference and Supply Chain Expo commenced with grandeur on Monday as President Dr. Mohamed Irfaan Ali officially opened the event at the Marriott Hotel, Kingston, Georgetown. The ceremony, marked by the symbolic cutting of the ribbon, set the stage for a four-day gathering of key policymakers, energy experts, investors, business leaders, and members of the diplomatic corps.

President Ali, accompanied by other heads of state, government ministers, and attendees, conducted a walkabout through the exhibition center following the inauguration. The mega event, held under the theme “Fueling Transformation and Modernization,” has drawn participants from more than 21 countries, with nearly 200 exhibitors and 30 sponsors participating this year.

Featuring discussions and presentations, the conference aims to explore the future of energy and opportunities for expanded partnerships in the industry. Notable figures such as Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, who spoke virtually; Prime Minister of The Bahamas Philip Davis; CARICOM’s Secretary General Dr. Carla Barnett; and Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago Dr. Keith Rowley delivered remarks during the opening ceremony.
