The Local Content Secretariat emphasized the need for companies to prioritize Guyanese nationals with the relevant qualifications and experience. “Contractors, Subcontractors, and Licensees are required to ensure that Guyanese nationals employed to support their operations continuously benefit from training and capacity development,” the Ministry stated.
To ensure compliance, the Secretariat announced it will conduct audits, requiring companies to provide evidence of offering Guyanese nationals opportunities for new and vacant positions. Companies must ensure equal benefits for Guyanese and non-Guyanese applicants and address experience gaps through training and mentorship.
