Horizon56 has showcased the transformative impact of its RigFlow™ and RigBridge™ solutions on offshore operations in Guyana’s Stabroek Block. ExxonMobil is the operator of the asset alongside Hess and CNOOC.

Horizon said its digital tools have significantly enhanced efficiency, safety, and sustainability in the region, making Guyana a pioneer in the adoption of digital technologies in the energy sector. RigBridge™ allows users to create, approve, and publish digital, standardized work instructions, which are then executed and tracked in real-time using RigFlow™. This integration ensures that team members are always aligned and working from the latest plan, enhancing overall operational efficiency and safety. The solutions have been integrated into Exxon’s operations with NobleCorporation, one of its prime drilling contractors.

Jerred Trim, Operations Advisor, ROC, ExxonMobil, highlighted the benefits of the digital solutions, stating, “Leveraging digital tools, such as Rigflow, whether you’re on the rig or in a remote operation space, having those combined…is what’s going to help us with our efficiencies, learnings, and just consumption of real-time operations.”

Ryan Alexas, Wells Operations Supervisor, ExxonMobil, emphasized the improvement in communication: “RigBridge and RigFlow have freed up time to focus on planning and execution. There’s a lot less email chains going around. Just log in, and everybody can see where we are currently at.”

Bernard McKenzie, DSL, Noble Sam Croft, shared his positive experience, saying, “From the second I heard about this system, I was on board with it because I’m a longtime driller. This, to me, would just make us more efficient.”

The digital solutions have also reduced the need for constant phone calls and streamlined operations. Jason Van de Graf, Wells Engineer, ExxonMobil, noted. “The drillers’ first response was, hey, I have a lot less phone calls coming to me and actually what we’re doing. It’s the same thing for us here in the office.”

Will Petley, Drilling Engineer, ExxonMobil, praised the system’s adoption, stating, “It’s a more streamlined system. I didn’t expect it to be as well adapted as quickly and as successful as it was. It’s just a great system.”

Kenny McQuillin, Rig Manager, Noble Sam Croft, concluded, “I’ve been with Noble Drilling for 20 years, and I’m not afraid to say that this is probably the best thing that we’ve put on the rig in 20 years.”
