Japanese shipbuilder MODEC announced on Tuesday that it is seeking companies for fabric maintenance, painting, and cleaning services on the Errea Wittu floating, production, storage and offloading vessel (FPSO), part of ExxonMobil Guyana’s fifth offshore development, Uaru.
Contractors will be responsible for a wide range of maintenance activities, including surface preparation and painting, insulation and cladding removal and application, and engineered temporary repairs. Additional tasks involve internal lining of equipment, passive fireproofing, and cleaning and de-mucking of tanks and vessels.

MODEC said the work will be conducted in challenging environments such as rope access operations, confined spaces, overside and overboard tasks, scaffold-based operations, and on-deck activities.
The Errea Wittu will be the fifth FPSO deployed offshore Guyana, boosting total oil production to over 1.1 million b/d.
ExxonMobil operates the Stabroek Block, where all sanctioned projects, including the Uaru development for which the Errea Wittu FPSO is being constructed, are located. ExxonMobil holds a 45% stake, with Hess and CNOOC holding 30% and 25%, respectively.
